Son of a big Revenue Officer of Britsh Raj; Murildhar Amte ( Baba Amte) belonged to an affluent feudal family. Wikipedia says Baba owned a gun at the age of 14. He drove a sports car with real tiger skin seat covers.
Young Law graduated Baba got impressed with Gandhian thoughts. He now decided to spend his life serving poor & downtrodden. He had a Mission in mind. And to accomplish this mission he thought he should have a life partner in his life
Young Baba Amte had chosen Miss Indu Dhule as his life partner but Indu's Father Mr Dhule was still not convinced with idea of giving her beloved daughters hand to a Fakir like social activist Murlidhar (Baba) Amte.

Murlidhar had made his mind .He kept sending post cards to Mr Dhule. Having no reply frustrate Murlidhar traveled & arrived at Mr Dhule's house.
He sat in front of Mr Dhule. He told him he wants to serve the society for which he needs a life partner as a moral & emotional support. Mr Dhule was not convinced and sat with straight face.
seeing Mr Dhule not responding Murlidhar dropped his head in his knees in despair. he wept.. and wept till the floor was wet with his tears. At last Mr Dhule agreed. Indu became Mrs Sadhna Amte.
